TSIBA Business School ups the ante with specialist EdTech collaboration

TSIBA Business School (TSIBA) have beefed-up their technology infrastructure with a recent collaboration with education technology specialists, Metisware. The not-for-profit business school which has campuses in Cape Town and Johannesburg has signed an agreement with the EdTech provider that will facilitate an upgrade and bolster their online facilities.

The partnership will see TSIBA, who moved into new premises just before South Africa’s first lockdown, and Metisware develop and construct a shared multimedia and production studio that will be unmatched by any South African campus. Metisware, who have spent more than 20 years with the UCT Graduate School of Business, have experienced rapid growth in the last 5 years, with the demand for specialist online education technology expertise increasing substantially. The new ‘control room’, which will be situated at TSIBA House, the institution’s Woodstock Campus, will deliver solutions to the challenges TSIBA and other education providers have experienced in converting many of their offerings into professional online programs and provide much-needed space for Metisware to advance their production capability and service existing and new clients.

Construction of the new facility has commenced and plans include the provision of a production studio with quality sound and visual equipment for top-end virtual classroom capabilities all systematically developed in conjunction with Metisware’s EdTech management solutions. The control room, which will be built to host Metisware’s Black Magic video mixing equipment, Rode audio and additional state-of-the-art live-streaming and production systems, will form an integral part of the studio, where the tech team will capture or live-stream the produced content to the world.

Speaking at the official hand-over, Metisware founder Steven Pieterse said, “Not only are we excited to be teaming up with TSIBA on an EdTech level, but we are especially inspired that our visions are aligned. Metisware is a result of my own passion and belief that we can make this country great through education and we are proud to be collaborating with TSIBA in furthering their mission in paying it forward and removing boundaries to quality, valuable tertiary education.”
